About this piece
The Seax is the knife of the Anglo-Saxon and Viking world — a single-edged blade with a broken back that turns up again and again in early-medieval graves. This 15-inch interpretation is forged from high-carbon steel and fitted with a Wenge wood handle, built for collectors of historical arms as much as for outdoor use.
High-carbon steel rather than stainless is the honest choice for this design: it is what the original smiths worked with, it takes a very keen edge, and it will patina over the years into a grey-brown surface that suits the piece. The Wenge handle is dense and dark, shaped and sanded by hand, and balanced so the weight sits forward of your grip the way a working seax should.
At 15 inches total it is a substantial piece — impressive on a wall or stand, and capable in a camp for splitting kindling, carving and heavy cutting. Each one is forged to order, so tell us on WhatsApp if you want a different handle wood, a leather sheath or a specific finish, and we confirm the price in USD with a timeline.
